You're probably thinking of funboy's foaming at the mouth over the HeadBanger EarSubs in Hot Deals.

While they may please you, they are almost certainly NOT good headphones. I'm actually considering ordering a pair just so I can have an educated opinion on them, but until I hear otherwise I'm assuming they're junk.

What you seem to be looking for are canalphones (they actually are inserted into your ear canal).

What kind of a budget are you looking at?

If you dont want to spend as much money as the e2c's cost, may I humbly suggest:

Sony MDR-EX81SLB

Make sure not to get the ex71slb's... those are just bass punchers with bad sound quality.

yea canal phones. Thats exactly what i want. Well I dont want something overly expensive but i dont want something cheap. What do earbuds range in price?

Um take this example. I own Sennheiser 497's <-- think thats the model

They cost 65 3 years back and are AWESOME!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I want something that will offer a bang for my buck like the senns did

I picked up a set of the Sennheiser MX550 (or MX450?...I don't remember) earbuds for $20-$25 bucks and they sound much better than the POS ones that came with my MP3 player.

Canalphones can run anywhere from ~$20 (Sony EX51's online) to $1000 (Ultimate Ear UE-10's, custom molded to your ear canal).

Low end Shure or Etymotic Research products are probably your best bet if you want to (or are willing to) spend say $50-100.

I just ordered myself a pair Sennheiser HD201's to use as beater cans for the road. That plus a Turtle Beach Audio Advantage was under $50 together (from onsale.com). The HD201's by themselves were under $20.

Well that pretty much means Sony then.

Not that those are bad choices, I have a pair of EX51's & they're quite good for the money.

If you've got the bucks, Etymotics ER4S from Headroom, I guess (best price last time I checked). Great sound, blocks out noise, so far never a single discontinuity. One driver failed (broke) and they sent me a replacement free. When I bought them people recommended getting a headphone amplifier, so I did, but I found I didn't need it and never have with any of the portable music players I've used them with. I had maybe 20 pairs of portable headphones before I got my Etymotics, but have never used any of them since 1999, and I gave almost all of them to charity. Used to get annoying discontinuities all the time and have to break out my soldering iron.

Edit: These stay in. That's never an issue. The only issue I can think of is the fact that the cord tapping on something (e.g. your shirt, etc.) causes extraneous sound, so you do things to prevent that. They come with a clip that you attach to your shirt, etc.

earbuds don't work for me either. they always fall out. i heard they are a lot worse for your hearing than headphones anyway.

What makes you think that if your ears are retarded and cheapo PSP earbuds won't stay in, that IEM/earbuds will?
