Earbud headphone recommendations?

I'm looking for high quality and durability earbud headphones. I know very little about headphones, and what specs to look for. I have heard a lot about two companies: Shure and Etymotic. And for reference, I have the Sony MDR-V600 headphones currently, and while I think their quality is fine, they are a little uncomfortable as I find an excessive amount of heat buildup around my ears when I wear them.

Any recommendations? If not, any good forums or review sites for headphones? Thanks!

Ety & Shure are both excellent.

If you can stretch your budget to $220 you can get Ety ER-4S @ headphone.com. ER-6 is well within your budget though.

Start out @ headphone.com & head-fi.org.

$150 is barely over entry level for high end headphones.

The problem with shopping for in-canal and earbuds is you can't really try any on before purchasing...I mean, who wants to borrow someone else's buds and stick them in their ear? Of course, they all have removable sleeves, but I had to try all of them before finding the most comfortable for my E2Cs...so odds are either you or the person you're borrowing from will have had it in their ear.

Just a little rant about earphone shopping. :)

That said, for $100, it's hard to beat the E2Cs. I love mine, it just takes a little getting used to the behind-the-back cord.

Just ordered a set of E3Cs... $114 at Amazon right now with free shipping. Hopefully they're as good as everybody says.

They also have the E2Cs for $69.

You may want to check out the E2C's for less money than the E3C's. Alot of people like the E2's more.
