Ear bud and headphone cords should be the same length for both ears... POLL

I motion that from this point forward, all manufacturers should make headphone cords with the same length for each ear for ear-bud style headphones.

What the hell is the point of having ear-bud headphones that are longer for one ear than the other? It seems like more stress is put on one wire instead of stressing them equally..

I voted no.

It doesn't really matter.

BUT, if you are an audiophuile, it probably matters. And it seems kinda stupid to make them different lengths.

The cord is longer so you can put it behind your neck so when you have to take them out to listen to people, the headphones can just be let to drop onto your shoulders. I think it is a rather intelligent design, and I absolutely love my EX71s.

no. makes it more convinient that you can put the cord behind your neck.

Right. if you need to take one out it hangs around your neck as opposed to hanging off your ear.
