Eagles file tampering suit against Cowboys

So the eagles have filed a tampering suit against the Cowboys, for comments Jerry Jones made on a radio show. The AP report that is flying around the internet includes a chopped version of Jones' speach, making it sound like he is directly talking about Owens. Basically, he was asked about Owens, he said he is deliberately avoiding that issue. He was then asked if he considers himself a "risk taker" who goes after troublesome players. He said he was and cited some examples. He was then asked why they didn't go after Owens last year. He said they were unsettled at QB last year, and there was no need to go after a top receiver. He then said that Bledsoe throws a great long ball and now a top receiver could flourish with them, but if Terry Glenn and keyshawn keep playing like this, they don't need one.

A cut and spliced version of this story makes it sound much worse then it is. I don't see the NFL hitting the Cowboys very hard on this one....sounds like Jeffrey Lurie is just being a little crybaby who was worried that the arbitrator would make them release Owens(all this happened before the ruling) and he doesn't want him going to a division rival.

As a Cowboys fan, I don't want Owens on the team, but I still think the Eagles are really reaching here.

p.s. if this is a repost, the OP needs to learn how to make a descriptive title.

Didn't the league pass out something right before the arbitration hearings stating no teams were allowed to comment on the TO situation period until this blew over?

found this here:

FOX Sports has also learned that the league office last week sent a memo to all teams specifically warning them from direct or indirect contact with Owens as well as talking about the possibility of picking up the controversial All-Pro weapon.
