Each voltage molex and sata cable

Hi,
Each Orange , Yellow and red cable have voltage?
If we used molex to sata cable,direclty delete orange cable!!
It this true?No problem if we used?
It can reduce lifespan of hard disk?

I don't follow, the molex has red (+5v) yellow (+12v) and black (GND)
sata power connector has an additional orange (3.3v).
Desktop HDs don't use the 3.3v line, most are 12v for the motor spin up, then 5v for operation. (IIRC)
