EAC won't write MP3's anymore, only WAVS...LAME will encode them though...???

I have no idea what's going on. I have LAME setup as the external encoder but all my output is in WAV and not MP3 like I am specifying.

DirectX 9.0b and the latest critical updates from MS were installed recently.

I have a new mp3 player for my home and am trying to fill the jukebox with mp3's as all my CD's won't fit.

Thanks

Chris

try using razorlame as a front end to lame. (use EAC to extract and razor lame to convert)

As a frontend to LAME I am using RazorLAME...however this works fine with that setup.

However using EAC to rip from CD to PC it's not converting to MP3, only WAV.

What are your "compression options" and "EAC options"? What happens when you hit the rip to MP3 button? It may be setup to not start encoding until they're all ripped to wav, or it just may not be displaying the LAME window. Did you actually check the directory after it was finished?

ok wierd it's doing it first to wav and then making the mp3

it used to not do this

Anyone know if I can make mp3's on the fly instead of wavs first?

Thanks for the help, I did just update eac from a very old beta version.

I don't think this is possible, at least with the version I have. It's faster ripping -> wav -> mp3, do you just not have enough HD space?

Everything is the same....I never ripped full albums so I never noticed the two steps. I tried it on another machine with the same setup I had and it's right. :)

Sorry nothing to see here, move along, just another idiotic poster. ;)
