EA Sports + Nintendo

Weren't you guys bitching that Nintendo didn't have any sports games?

Well, there was discussion for a while there on whether or not EA and Sega were going to bring back their sports titles for another round on the Gamecube. The sports titles sold worse on the Gamecube by far in comparison to PS2 and Xbox. Good for Nintendo though that they were able to work it out with EA. Even better if they make it so that the games are enhanced on the Gamecube through whatever bit of magic they can pull off. The cube controller is still not as good as controllers for the other two consoles for fighting games and sports titles IMHO. Hope they can work that out as well.

I play a lot of Madden, and it is MUCH easier on GC than PS2, IMO. I NEED analog in that game, and the analog control sticks on PS2 are absolutely positively HORRID.

I prefer the Xbox controller over the PS2 controller. The analog sticks are in a better position for me and it just sits in my hands better. The Gamecube controller...I just haven't been able to get used to it for sports titles.

The Gamecube controller is too small for larger hands. I'm 6'4" and my hands are average--already too big for the kid friendly GC contoller.

Yet....it's still difficult to find decent sized controllers for the GC. And what's with their online gaming?! I read that Nintendo doen't think the cost investment is warranted b/c their's not enough broadband homes. WTF?! The FUTURE OF GAMING IS ONLINE!

it's still not as good as my xbox or ps2.. 🙂

Why not?

because he gets crappy 989 titles on the ps2 and ports of pc sports games on the xbox

at least both have sports games for them right now..

Oh misguided one, Nintendo is only getting started. With ATI on board for the next generation, they are looking strong for the future.

I don't own a Nintendo but will be extremely happy if they have continued success as well as Sony and MS. Why? Because as a consumer, it is much better to have competition from three major consoles than just one. Look at how prices have fallen for the three consoles and all the recent deals.

Competition from only two consoles is not going to benefit us as consumers.

Sega's NHL game(whatever it will be called, since it WONT be called NHL 2k4) will not be on the Gamecube.

With the exception of Madden(i dont care what anyone says, NFL 2k3 was awful), sega's sports games blow EA's away, especially their NHL and baseball games.

um, EA makes all the sports games for computer...

im a Madden freak. Been playing Madden 2003 on Xbox for months. Up to 4 season in Franchise mode, it's addictive. My gf makes fun of me, lol, but hse's awesome for it. S-Controller is the nicest controller i've used in years. Almost as good as the joystick for Atari 2600.
