Kind of EAvil of them to give Steam the OK for a 50% off promotion of Alice, then undercut that price for their own service.

Otherwise, these are all worth getting if you didn't already get them from Steam:
Dragon Age w/ DLC
Mass Effect 2
Mass Effect

This also works on the 800 Bioware points "cards". It brings it down to $4 (usually $10) - can save on some ME2 DLC if anyone has been thinking about picking any up.

Origin sucks bad! So I bought Alice, Bulletstorm, Rail Simulator, Mirror's Edge, Sims 3, Sims Medieval, Medal of Honor Airborne, and Dead Space 2.

Sweet, everyone says the Shadow Broker DLC is worth buying and I only have the base ME2.

Shadow Broker is definitely awesome. I enjoyed Kasumi as well if you haven't played through that one yet.

The last DLC, "Arrival", is a must have - it sets up the story for ME3.

I hate Origin so much... :awe:

But anyway, is Burnout Paradise good on PC? I really enjoyed it on the 360 but it'd be worth restarting if it's cheap and runs well. This might also put Bulletstorm into the "cheap enough to finally buy" category for me as well. Wasn't too impressed with the demo or reviews, but it wasn't bad just not worth >$25

Burnout Paradise for PC is exactly like the 360 except I believe that the online services for the PC version have been taken offline. So that means any of the online purchased content is unavailable. The PC version also does not get big wake island but it comes bundled with the all free DLC on the disc and activated.

For any modern system you can easily max out the graphics.

I am assuming the ME DLC is compatible with the Steam version of the game?

That is a poor assumption to make. Last time I bought an origin game they didn't work on steam at all. However, I have heard reports that steam bought games do work on Origin... so you may have to go that route. Or I'm not sure if you can buy the DLC and copy the folder to your steam files. I don't know if there's any sort of compatibility or licence check that's done that'll ruin that.

My copy of ME1 is on Steam and I got my Pinnacle Station DLC from EA. They had a free promotion a couple years ago, before Origin was around. It appears in Origin now and it works fine.

For ME2 the only way to buy the DLC is through Bioware's website, so it will work with ME2 no matter where you bought it from. You download the .exe files from the website and install it from those.

It's a legitimate question. No need to get snippy. While I welcome competition to Steam with open arms, I do not like the idea of having to run 4-5 clients just to run games.

Sweet. Might pick up a few games. I also noticed that Origin got an update for BF3, including a beta for cloud saving. Nice.

OTOH though - I just realized that NFS Shift 2 is only € 20 on Origin compared to € 50 on steam. (that's -60% difference) So maybe they applied the discount after all, just not using the coupon code. There's a lot of relatively new € 20 games on Origin right now - not sure if that's usual.

Might be a legal issue. My memory from law school about EU consumer law is kinda faded.

doesn't seem to work for Sims Medieval and Gatling Gears unless you need to order separately?

I keep getting invalid promo code

nope, doesn't work with single games either.
