PopCap is now a division of Electronic Arts Inc. (EA)! As part of this transition, no earlier than January 2, 2012, PopCap will be merging its product offerings and databases with those of EA. EA's Terms of Service and Privacy Policy will thereafter govern any information you have provided to PopCap. To learn more about how PopCap will be making this transition, how the change will affect you, and to read EA's policies, click here.

Well, that was that they planned on doing so. This thread is about the fact that they did. :colbert:

I'll allow it

Does this mean I can pre-order the Bejeweled 4 Deluxe Edition for $59.99 on Origin?

(Sigh)... another great indie game developer bites the dust.

Does it bug anyone else that EA Games and Activision-Blizzard seem to own almost every popular game development studio at this point?

Yes. It's going to stifle creativity and innovation. The end product will suffer.

Well, that's my pestimistic view anyway.

No. I love monopolies and oligopolies. I buy my "Made in America" clothing from Walmart even though its really made in China. I eat "free range" chickens even though they're really raised in warehouses and just turned loose on a few acres before being slaughtered. I even eat "organic" foods grown from gene modified crops and sprayed with pesticides. The banks own D.C., homeland security is tapped into every ISP and phone in the country, my constitutional rights have been suspended indefinitely, but everything is right with the world. Its all good.

Eww... It's like I visited the Politics and News forum, got some of it stuck on my foot, and dragged it into the PC Gaming forum :)

That's right. Just avoid all those nasty political forums and any mention of monopolies, oligopolies, or money in general or who owns what. Drink your cheap beer, play your games, watch reality TV, and talk about something fun like who is dating Scarlett Johansson or criticize something stupid like her shoes.

Will? By and large it already has, but I blame the Hollywood influence more then EA itself.

Yes, its Scarlette Johansson and her damned shoes. All those hippy commie terrorists slowly infiltrating the video game business and destroying the purity of pure capitalism.

First it started with games doing the scrolling credits at the end.

Then it was action intros with scrolling credits are the start.

Next up envy budgets that rivaled and topped movie budgets.

After that remakes that sucked, and sucked, and sucked.

Now it's genre changes, take old ass games from the past that people loved and redo them with all sorts of new elements that no one wants.

See the trend?

Yep. Its those commie hippy bastards I tell ya. Destroying all that is good and holy by using our weaknesses against us. Destroying capitalism itself by diluting innovation and creativity and hard work with mindless crap. All those Hollywood leftists out to ruin the American dream.
