So this is going to be just like the Orange Box then. Valve is going to do the 360 and PC versions and a separate dev is going to do the PS3 version for EA. I wonder if there will be a delay between them or not...

Let's recap. First, the survival horror zombie hotness known as Left 4 Dead was "confirmed" to be an Xbox 360/PC exclusive. This hit about the same time as the rumor that it was actually coming to the PS3, though this was shot down by Valve's Doug Lombardi who says "There is no PS3 version of Left 4 Dead announced, nor in development. Not sure how that got started."
Then in May, it all seemed pretty final when Valve said that they are "not PS3 developers." They may not be, but EA is.
According to a little blurb in the Official PlayStation Magazine, Left 4 Dead is coming to the PS3, with Electronic Arts taking on the development duties. See, we just needed someone to think outside the box!

"There's no PS3 version currently in production," a Valve spokesperson told CVG following rumors that EA was working on a PS3 edition of multiplayer shooter Left 4 Dead.
Valve marketing director Doug Lombardi previously told the site that the company was not a PS3 developer and that it was only developing the game for Xbox 360 and PC.
"Left 4 Dead doesn't have that guaranteed appeal yet - it's a new IP,? he said. ?If Left 4 Dead is big, then we may see a PS3 version later, or if and when we do a sequel, people may be more interested in that."
Valve previously handled development duties on the PC and 360 versions of The Orange Box, while EA was responsible for the PS3 version.
