As per recent posts for the E8400 C0, I've got a dated board with a dated 680i nVidia chipset. All it took was a BIOS revision to make it C0 and E0 capable for the Wolfdales.

So it would be very irresponsible for ECS to post those definitive confirmations in their web-site's table, if it weren't true. The 945GC BIOS revision is dated mid-July of last year, at the time of the E8600 (E0) release.

There are some other "945GC" boards with low FSB specs for the Intel "Atom" processor. But the specs on your board are similar to a few others -- shown to be "1333/1066Mhz FSB" ready.

i think technically the 945gc 's latest revisions only support 1066 officially by intel. but as long as they designed the board's vrms to handle the needs of your CPU and the mobo manufacturer supports the bus speed it shoudl be fine.

there are a lot of 945gc boards that "support" 1333 bus from asus, asrock, msi etc.

Any good examples of 945gc boards that "support" E8600? :)

Asus P5G-MX, (Intel 945GC/ICH7) CPU Support:
http://support.asus.com/cpusup...P5G-MX&product=1&os=17

>> Core 2 Duo E8190(2.66GHz,1333FSB,L2:6MB,rev.C0)
>> Core 2 Duo E8200 (2.66GHz,1333FSB,L2:6MB,rev.C0)
>> Core 2 Duo E8300 (2.83GHz,1333FSB,L2:6MB,rev.C0)
>> Core 2 Duo E8400 (3.00GHz,1333FSB,L2:6MB,65W,rev.E0)
>> Core 2 Duo E8500 (3.16GHz,1333FSB,L2:6MB,65W,rev.E0)
>> Core 2 Duo E8500 (3.16GHz,1333FSB,L2:6MB,rev.C0)
>> Core 2 Duo E8600 (3.33GHz,1333FSB,L2:6MB,65W,rev.E0)
>> Core 2 Duo E8600 (3.33GHz,1333FSB,L2:6MB,rev.C0)

Due to chipset limitation, 1333FSB processors can only run at a maxium speed of 1066FSB on this motherboard.

How true is above statement? :)

well I believe there is a ASUS P5GC-MX/1333 whcih is a different board with 945gc.

I know the biostar 945gc /1333 board, is out there too. ASRock 945GCM-S also is one.

The asus, ecs, and asrock boards are all at newegg., though there arent too many 945gc boards anymore for sale, sine the G31 / g41 chipsets have gotten cheap enough now. they mostly use the 945gc for atom boards now to keep the feature differentiation around (since the g31 boards are gma 3100 and are better 3d)
