if i bump the fsb to 400 and keep the ratio at 9.5 what settings do i need to change with the memory? im presently using 4 gb of ocz 1066 speed ram on a p43 chipset asus board

You may not have to change anything with the memory. You are already running fast enough memory. Just bump the FSB to 400 and see if it boots at 3.8. If it does...start checking for stability.

I have read a lot of people just bump the FSB and that is it. And it works fine for them.

Of course some will probably post and beg to differ. This is just what I read though 🙂

Just make sure your memory divider and your FSB does not make your memory rated above 533FSB and you should be good to go. Also, check what your memory voltage is at the rated speeds and set that manually in BIOS as well.

EDIT: BTW, the E8500 is a nice chip. Mine does 4.05Ghz at 1.28v for everyday use.
