Hi all
I've just built my new rig and im having some real cpu temperature issues.
I have a retail Intel E8400 3.0gig. Im using the stock cooler which came with it on an A-bit IP35 Pro XE board.
My first problem was that the bios says my CPU temp is at 90c at idle which I think is bollox as the heatsink is cool.. I've had to disable to board temperature warnings.
I installed a few windows monitoring programs and they put the core temps at 30-40 idle and raising to near 90c when under load.
The cooler is properly mounted and the fan running at overdrive..
I know this isnt normal..... Is this my board giving dodgy readings ??? I hear the Abits IP35 have CPU bios issues regarding the Wolfdales.
My system HAS not been overclocked...
Would it be worth be shelling out some hard earned spondoolies on a better cooler such as an Arctic Cooling AC-FRZ-7P Freezer 7 etc ?????
Any info would help here...
Many thanks in advance.
