My computer keeps hanging on post whenever I change the FSB. I even tried changing the FSB to its stock setting just to see and.. it crashed on post! I kept all the volt settings on Auto too!

CPU: Intel E8400 3GHz
MB: Gigabyte P35-DS3L v2.0 Latest Bios
PSU: OCZ StealthXStream 600W (Rated 2nd tier)
Fan: Artic Freezer Pro 7

Here is a pic:

What am I doing wrong?

Set DDR overvoltage back to Normal?
Perhaps you're overvolting the RAM and that's causing it to hang.

If you're back at stock FSB, you should not need to up vcore at all, just leave it at default.

I put the ram back to auto and the cpu is being set at stock FSB so I shouldnt need a FSB increase.

Also make sure you keep the PCI-E clock locked at 100 mhz, having it on auto it will rise with the FSB and cause instability and could do damage to your card too I think.

Ive read many guides. Is there something specific in that guide you think would help?

How would DPC latency cause the machine not to POST?

Is this a first build problem or have you been using the PC fine for a while and this happened as soon as you tried to up the FSB?

The winner is.. CMOS reset! THanks so much! I can now overclock like everyone else. So if anyone else has this same program with the D3SL and a new chip like the E8400 you HAVE TO RESET THE CMOS ON THE MOTHERBOARD!!!

Im running at a modest 3.6ghz now but Ill be pushing for 4ghz once I see how stable this is.

THANKS AGAIN!

/wink, I had a feeling that would work for you. Have fun! I have the same mobo and cpu being shipped to me this week!
