Anyone know of a way to figure out EXACTLY what stepping my CPU is ?

Here is what I am getting.

CPU-Z = M0
Everest Ultimate = C0
Everest CPUID = C0

There was another program that showed it to be a M0, but uninstalled it and cannot remember the name now.

Which of these is right ? Or is there a program that shows exactly what it is ?

And what is the difference between C0 and the M0 ?

I just received my e7300, but the mobo is coming tomorrow. The back of the CPU sais: SLAPB Malay, Q827B410

Any chance that some1 can tell what stepping it is, and if it's a good/bad batch ? Pack date sais: 10/01/08.

How's your e7200 running JPB ?

Mine is running absolutely great. The temps are 32c at idle and never break 49c at load. I have only managed 3.1 on stock cooling though for overclocking. Waiting on a aftermarket sink. :)

When I had my CPU overclocked to 3.0 a week ago, all the tests I found had it side by side equal with a stock E8400-E8500. So it is a very good chip knowing it will do ALMOST 4GHz.

The only R0 stepping I have seen or heard of that is available at this time is the e7400.

I am sure others will be made on the R0 stepping,.... like the e7500, but nothing that I have seen actually available at this time

Edit: Dual core chips that is,.. there are some quad cores on R0 stepping,.... ;)

You can find your processor specs here

When I first got my E7200 Cpu-z reported it as C0 but I had to update to the latest version and it corrected it to M0. So, if you havent already, get the latest versions......

Hey JPB, I got my new rig up and running. The e7300 has a vid of 1.15v, and will do 3.0ghz on 1.15v hehe, right now after 30 mins of orthos, it's at 56c though. That's with the standard cooler with preapplied goop. I'm still deciding with which to go, xigmatek 1283, the xigmatek 1283 red scorpion, the zerotherm nirvana or tuniq tower 120.

How wide is your case? With a mid-tower Lian Li like what I have which is 8.25" wide, my Tuniq fits with ~ 1/4" clearance from hitting the see-thru side window when mounted. The Xigmatek S-1283 is a slightly better cooler but also a tad taller and would not fit in my case, FYI.

Hm, I've got a p182. Specs tell me it's 8.1 inches wide. So I guess a xigmatek ain't going to fit! Heh, glad you popped in here brencat. Before I pull the trigger I'll try and figure out if it will fit.

I have 2 182's and both have the Tuniq in them. They fit just fine and very much worth it! :)

The Tuniq is 153mm tall while the Xigmatek is 159mm tall. That's a differential of around 1/4". But if a Tuniq fits per Drsignguy, you may just make it. Going to be very close though -- do you feel lucky?

On the p182, it will barely fit a TRUE according to what I have seen,.. a xiggy and a TRUE are essentially the same.

A xiggy (same thing with vendetta 2, and TRUE all about the same height - within 1-2 cm,.. the tuniq is shorter by 6 cm) will fit in most cases barely unless you have a crossbar or fan in that area.

There is a reason why the heatsink manufacturers went this high and no higher,... :)

Edit: The TRUE is the "highest" at 160.5mm,.... and I have seen many people use that combo

Zerotherm Nirvana: 128 L x 95 W x 148 H
Tuniq Tower: 131 x 108 x 153
Xigmatek: 120(W) x 50(H) x 159(D)mm

TRUE: 63.5 x 132 x 160.5mm

Looks like the Nirvana is the least highest and the least heavy. AFAIK it's also pretty quiet. Choices hehe :p
