E6850 vs X6800???

Looking around newegg, and realized something. Why does the e6850 cost 700 bucks less than the x6800, and its faster than the x6800!?!?!?!

Is it just because of the multiplier difference??

The X6800 was part of Intel's enthusiast line and those processors retain their value, even if a superior processor comes out that gives equivalent or greater performance at a fraction of the cost.

It's just because its the extreme line and people who don't know better pay it. Remember when the FX-55s were $1k and then within 12 months Newegg had them for like $75? I'd bet the X6800 will be about $200 within a year.
