So will the new e6750 processor work in a MB with a P965? I've got the intel DP965LT board but was wondering if the processor will use the 1066mhz bus instead?

Probably not Intel boards, but many of the enthusiast brand MBs have support for the 1333MHz C2Ds. Asus's P965 MBs for example support both the 1333MHz C2Ds and not yet released 45nm versions.

damn! I was hoping I wouldn't have to upgrade the MB.

Aren't they suppose to be dropping the price on the older CPU's as well, like the e6700?

Thanks guys.

I'd try it and just see what happens - if it doesn't support 1333MHz FSB officially, it might boot up at a FSB of 266MHz, and then you can just manually change the FSB to 333MHz. Worst case scenario it won't boot and then you can go buy a new mobo.

Haha, I just called Intel, they didn't know if the processor would work or not. You would think coming from the horses mouth it would be a yes or no answer. Oh well, I don't mind getting a new motherboard :)

the p965 does support the 6X50 chips. just be sure that the manufacturer (like asus) has released an updated bios for the chip.

I have the Gigabyte GA-965P-DS3 Revision 3.3 which is widely advertised to support 1333 FSB CPUs so I should be fine until I can get a P35 mobo right?
