E6750 cheaper than E6600?

My motherboard died and so I've decided to upgrade from this:

To:

Gigabyte GA-P35-DS3l Motherboard
2 GB G.Skill DDR2 800

I was planning on purchasing a C2D E6600, however, I noticed that I could purchase an E6750 for cheaper than the E6600. I've sort of been out of the loop as far the latest technology goes, but this seems wrong? Is it a pricing mistake or what?

Any advice on the build or which CPU to purchase would be much appreciated! Thanks!

You definitely have been out of the loop. No, it is not a price mistake.

It's a bit complicated explaining the pricing but get the E6750 over E6600.
