e6750 at MicroCenter for $189 plus shipping (FedEx Home Delivery was $6 for me).

And to think NewEgg just bumped their price to $229... geeze.

Where?

Intel is clubbing AMD to death.
I'll bet AMD withdraws their suit against Intel in order to stay alive.
I just saw the thread where the 3200 was going on Fry's for $20. - although they are now OOS.

Still plenty of profit with E6750 $190. Real threat to AMD is the $80-$100 E4300. Easy 3.0GHz with a decent chip and $56 Abit IB9 MB. Cheapskates will also enjoy the low entry price of E2xx0.

AMD would have more fire power to compete with INTC if they didn't acquire ATI. I suspect buy-out will occur within 18 months. There's nothing in AMD's arsenal that can keep up with INTC's top chips in the next few quarters. You can't reduce debts by dumping $50 CPUs on the market.

I registered just to let you know.
TYVM!I bought one for $215 last night and cancelled my order. You saved me $20.🙂

would the memory from this deal HP Branded Memory PC5300 DDR2 be a good combination with the Abit Board mentioned and this processor? Or should I look at the E4300?

(another dumb question, I have had no Intel systems since Celeron 300A days - how does a E4300 compare to a 3800x2 or 4400x2?)

Newegg's now up to $235... I've never seen something like this happen, where just about everybody has a better deal than them.

Not a suprise to me. Newegg can still throw out some humdingers, but over the past couple of years I've been finding better deals at other e-tailers such as ZZF, MWave, eWiz, and now Clubit.

I always hit froogle.com for a price check before any purchase, it usually pays off....

HP memory is okay up to about 400MHz @ 2.0V/5-5-5-15-2T. Works fine with Abit IP35/IP35-E/IB9 and E4300. Possible 3.4-3.6GHz with a good chip. Note that the IB9 will probably limit your FSB speed to about 360MHz (3.2GHz E4300).

I prefer E4300 over E6750. You're paying an extra $100 for perhaps another 300-400MHz. That's noise in my book. I'd rather allocate this $ toward 45nm CPUs.

I just received my E 6750 today here in Louisana after ordering it on Thursday for $196.00 bucks from Microcenter! Not bad at all, I'm very impress! Thanks to all of you for pointing this place out. I was a hopeless Newegg and sometimes Mwave buyer but after what happen with this Intel price, I'll be sure to look around from now on. Club IT has some good deals also.
