What's better, higher fsb, or low fsb with high multi. Is it hard on the cpu to run the fsb up to 500mhz?

Also.. should my e6700 throttle itself down? C0/C1 state or something? not sure.. but I think it should, and it isn't.

No it makes no difference to the cpu...It is harder on the motherboard chipset and your memory when you use high FSB.....Chipsets are stock at 266fsb so if you OC to 500fsb you effectively are running a 2000mhz system bus....Ram also increases so unless you ahve some good dividers the higher the fsb the more expensive memory modules you will need to buy.

I have corsiar xms2 pc6400, and I am currently very stable at 426X8, with mem running at 852mhz. Seems that I can't hit 3.5ghz without increasing the vcore alot. I have tried quite a bit for 500X7 with memory at 1:1 ratio, very slack timings. I can run dual prime and get no errors, but sometimes my comp just restarts.. can't figure out what is causeing this, I figured it was vcore, but I tried with 1.4 vcore and it still wasn't stable. Any idea's what would causes a reboot? but no errors?
