E6600 Week 28 OC Results

I managed to sell my week 24 E6600 without a loss and get a new E6600 week 28.

With my week 24, I was able to get 3.2ghz with 1.4785vCore.

With my week 28, I am able to get 3.41ghz with 1.4785vCore.

I cannot get anything above 3.41ghz (379fsb) for the most part. I've tried 392fsb with 1.550v and was unable to even pass 3dmark05 cpu tests. Also, during all these tests, I've determined that the only voltage that influences my overclock is the vcore. Changing any of the others, like mch, has no effect as I am not above 400fsb yet.

I am pleased with this extra .21ghz increase out of the same chip but was really hopeing for 3.6 like a lot of others have gotten with the week 27. Hope this helps some prospective buyers.

I'm surprised people are having so much trouble with these. Have you tried moving up very slowly while priming along the way? I've found that even once I've discovered stable settings (like below), if I reset the clocks to stock, I can't just jump back to the sig settings, I have to move up slowly.

I also had to pump up the voltage with my week 27 which is very similar to week 28

2. i show that screen as a proof of my comp being stable ..... even at DDR2 1060 and E6400 at 3.4GHz

umm

1. i have vcore set to 1.6v in bios which is like 1.56 1.58v real, also i have every other voltage set to max in BIOS ...

2. a lot of people are doing E6400 @ 450x8 3.6GHz with good batch, i am just one of the unlucky ones that got crappy batch L624 = year 06 week 24. although there r good OC cpu in good batch and bad OC CPU in good batch.. the highest i have seen was one guy doing 4GHz 8x500 on air!!!

3. i do liek my RAM though its doing DDR2 1060 ~ PC8500 at only 2.2v vdimm 5-4-4-12


and yeah maybe its not pure crap, its just minor crap

You do realize that nothing past stock settings is guranteed and you're damn lucky to get 400Mhz from it. Intel could easily have made them overclock poorly and force you to buy a faster chip if you wanted more speed.

yeah , never thought of it that way , ha maybe i should be happy, cuz a 4GHz conroe is useless to me as i only use comps to play game, and games are GPU demanding (well except oblivion)

Oblivion is very GPU dependant, but it seems to scale better with CPU speeds and dual core support.
