Alright, a friend of mine would like to overclock his system from stock 2.4GHz (E6600 B2) to around 3.0GHz. He's using a Gigabyte GA-N650SLI-DS4 and 2GB of G.Skill DDR2-800 RAM. The BIOS doesn't have a whole lot of overclocking features but it has the basics. What I need to know is what should I set everything to? I'm not sure about the voltages and all that. I set the CPU Frequency from 266 to 333 and no POST. So, I reset the CMOS and went lower trying to get it to POST with a higher Frequency. I tried 288 and it POSTed, however when I went back into the BIOS it told me that I need to work with the voltages.
We went to Microcenter today and he purchased an ASUS Silent Square CPU cooler. I cleaned the CPU with 91% Isopropyl like I always do then I applied AS5. Temps @ 2.4GHz reached 41C @ full load (Orthos FFT).
Anyways, I need to know what I need to set the voltages to to have be able to run at @.8 - 3.0GHz stable on a B2 E6600.
