Orthos stresses the processor much more than gaming. Linpack stresses it even more. Although one factor in gaming is that the GPU is stressed at the same time, creating more heat in the system which would affect the processor. But as far as work is concerned, gaming doesn't stress the CPU as much as those programs.
What heatsink are you using on the processor? Stock? If it's stock then those temps are pretty good for stock, although you should invest in a better cooler if possible. You can get a decent one for $20-$40.
Using the Scythe Ninja Rev B, or something along those lines.
Would lowering the vcore, if keeping that overclock, result in lower temps? I think I have room to get the voltage lower, though the NB voltage and temp I'm more concerned with.
I've got the CPU cooler working on a push/pull setup, the 120mm fan on the HS is pushing across the HS/CPU, and a few inches to the rear of the HSF unit is another 120mm fan pushing air out the back of the case, in effect pulling from the HSF area.
It might not be as efficient as a cooler as some others, but in reviews it did seem to pull respectable temperatures.
What is not helping is my room is quite warm now. I know I had reasonable temperatures at 3.44 when in my on-campus apartment/dorm with great AC.
