Per email it is $159.99 online or $159.99 in store after using the $100 coupon.

They also have the E6700 for $400 online and possibly instore after $200 coupon but the email might be worded incorrectly.

Probably similar in sheer overclockability, but you need a higher FSB for the E6400 to clock well. So if you're on a budget the E4300 is still attractive.

Man...I wish 6600's were in this price range lol.

At stock speeds, an E6400 would perform similarly to or slightly better than an FX-60. However, with some overclocking (even a conservative OC to 2.6-3 GHz), the E6400 would pull way ahead of an FX-60.

OP, please update the title to indicate that this is B&M only, there's an online version of the same (that Wildfire found ahead of me -- two posts below). There's no coupon needed with online deal!

That's what I wanted to know.
Still stuck with s939 but I think c2d is the way to go.
What mobo would you recommend for the 6400 w/o breaking my bank account?
Thanks

My friend has the Asus P5B P965 mobo and it easily produces a 2.8 GHz overclock on his E6300 with very little fine-tuning. I spent 20 minutes tuning it after a LAN and managed to get 2.8 GHz stable even with his DDR2-675 and the BIOS's lack of divider options for slower RAM. I'm sure it could do over 3 GHz with some more adjustments to the OC options. I would recommend the P5B if you're on a budget. For more serious overclocking, though, you are going to want an nVidia 680i based motherboard, such as the eVGA 680i or Asus P5N32.

Guys,
I've joined the forum today although I've been reading for a couple weeks. I'm about to upgrade my system. this e6400 looks like a terrific deal. Is there a catch?

just noticed - this doesn't have the heatsink and the fan. that's one "catch" but it shouldn't be a big deal. I was actually waiting for the 4MB L2 Cache version to come out, but this deal is hard to pass....

How bout this Asus P5N-E SLI for $139 @ MC?

Or is it worth to spend another ~ $100 to get this...
Asus P5N32 E-SLI for $229 @ MC?

Catch is this is OEM and only 90 day warranty versus the 3 year warranty with retail boxing. Even with $60 more at $220 it would be worth it to me to get the 3 year warranty over 3 months.

Great deal! Perfect for overclockers who don't need the stock HSF or the warranty since it will be voided anyways! Thanks OP! They also have the Corsair CMPSU-520HX for about $20.00 cheaper than Newegg!

Nice deal, thanks OP. I'm not an overclocker but don't mind the OEM - in 20+ years I've only had one processor (out of probably more than a hundred) fail, and it was after the retail warranty expired. Besides, while I would pay a few dollars more for retail, I would never pay an extra $60 (38%).

nice deal op, these should o/c better than e4300 (as long as you have a mobo that supports high fsb)

This deal is tempting. But when are they giong to release the e6320 and the e6420. cuase those 4mb cache is gonna cost the same as the current cpu. I dunno if should jump on this deal or just wait till they release e6320 & e6420.
