e6400 B2 stepping

Is it at all possible to locate and purchase what is specifically a B2 revision (Stepping 6) E6400? I don't know if I really want to just take chances at Newegg and hope they ship old stock.
I really want to OC, and to sell my parts I basically need to order now. I think I can handle not being able to reach for the E6420 since it seems a few weeks off and the extra cache doesn't necessarily improve performance enough to force me to possibly lose a good sale of my current hardware. And the overclocking potential of the B2 revision is immensely better than what is currently available today (2.8ghz of today's shipping L2 revision chips, to well over 3.4ghz is some instances with the B2 chips).

Anyone have any ideas as to how I can locate a B2 revision E6400?

Best bet is to try a Xeon 3050. Those generally overclock better anyways.

The easiest way to see is to check the week it was bin'd

These will be a set of letters and numbers imprinted on top of the CPU:

Mine says L631B120

Im fairly sure, all the C2D chips ive seen with the middle letter B have B2 revisions.

Ive seen a few G's that also have B2 revisions, but i think there hard to find. STay away from the letter F. I heard these guys are just ment for grannys who watch porn all day and dont overclock.

okay. Well you can't find that out until you have the product in your hands. This creates a problem. You can't just return it and say "oh btw can you give me a different one, I don't like this one."

You can at frys

Sometiems if you call them and request a certain week bin, they SOMETIMES, well very few then sometimes, will put a note in there packaging department, and they will sometimes follow it.

But you'd be really. I get my chips at frys. The pricing is almost on par with newegg, and i get it the same day. Also they take returns just for about any reasons. But you get to see your week and bin b4 you walk about that door.

Yes, they're basically higher-binned Core 2 Duos. The Xeons aren't that well known, so most places should have old stock. I know the one I got from Newegg a few weeks ago was an L626B.
