e6400 @ 3.8 stable

This is about the fifth computer i have built, but the first one for me.

I have overclocked some, but i wanted that extra little bit this time, so I'm watercooling and here are the results:

stable @ 3.8
verified cpuz @ 3.8

verified cpuz @ 4

I'm wondering if it is unusual to be able to get an e6400 this high. I have seen many people get them to 3.6-3.7, but haven't seen much above that

EDIT: I figure i would post the specs as well

Week: L631
Code: A518
Vcore Set in bios:1.65v actual was around 1.55
Cooling: water
Cooler brand/model: mp-05, ddc, heater core
Motherboard: ASUS P5b deluxe WiFi
Memory: Crucial
Rated speed: 667
Timmings: 5-5-5-12@500, 4-4-4-12@475

nice overclock.

However, I am not sure if 6 hours is enough. I ran mine and it produced an error after 8.5 hours. I think the timeframe should be more like 12-24 hours.

But if it doesn't crash during your every day tasks, then that's fine.

What week is your cpu?

Wow, that is amazing! I'm assuming that booting up to 3.8GHz is do-able with E6400, but being able to run Orthos for 6 hours is truly an achievement.

Thanks, i'm debating on taking the ihs off (DONT TELL ME THE RISKS i already know) and pumping a little more voltage to get stable at 4ghz

yep, that anniversary edition that crucial had is amazing, i had it all the way to 560 and it was solid. Too bad i didn't buy 5 or 6 kits of the stuff, i could probably make a little profit.

Nice OC.

Gives me a little hope as well. I've got an L631 e6400 currently at just over 3.2Ghz (404Mhz fsb) w/1.350v (actual is 1.335v). My ram is holding me back at the moment, but I've got some Patriot low latency DDR2 5300 on the way and hope to get to at least 3.4Ghz on air (Zalman cnps9700). 2 cpu's isn't a huge sample, but L631's might turn out to be pretty good OC'ers.

As a side note, my Gigabyte GA965p-DQ6 doesn't seem to like Buffalo Firestix at all. It will boot and run, but I had to loosen the timings quite (5-6-6-18) a bit and up the voltage to 2.2v (2.3v didn't help at all so I didn't even try 2.4v) just to get it stable at 808Mhz (404Mhzfsb).
