Thinking of getting a E6320, and OC'ing it to atleast E6600 speeds. Anyone got any memory/mobo recommendations. Best bang 4 your buck, and etc.

G.Skill 2X1gb kit for $95ish or any of the other $100ish 2gig kits. If you don't mind dealing with rebates, can get some Crucial Ballistic with D-9 chips for $99 after 40 rebate. Check hotdeals forum.

Gigabyte DS-3 Rev3.3 Motherboard for $130ish.

gigabyte P965 S3

currently less then 100 dollars shipped at mwave.

Was able to get my L631B120 E6600 to clock at 1.4V in bios @ 3636.

As for ram, Zardnok's recomendations are the same as mine, including the board.

So yeah i second his recomendations!

Gigabyte GA-965-DS3--supposed to be better than the s3 version, and GEIL GX22GB6400UDCA.

This is one of the best bang-for-your-buck motherboards out there if you do not need firewire. Forget about the Gigabyte P965 DS3. The only difference between the DS3 and S3 is that the DS3 is built with solid capacitors. The solid capacitors supposedly extend the life of the motherboard and improve overclocking ability. I personally believe that any additional longevity/durability is purely a marketing move to squeeze an extra $40 out of people.

I've seen evidence that the P965 S3 overclocks very well. Getting the e6320 to 2.4GHz (e6600 speed) is trivial with most P965 motherboards. Expect to top out between 2.8-3.0GHz with a small voltage increase and stock cooling.

If for some strange reason you want or need SLI, the ASUS P5N-E SLI was a very good buy recently. Same ballpark as the DS3.
