e6300 overclocking HELP

Hey all,

I'm a n00b to the forums, so please bear with me.

I'm having stability issues with my e6300 at 2.93 ghz.

I have made the following observations / notes:

- It passes dual prime / orthos for 12 hours+
- It passes 3dmark 06 looping 12 hours+
- It never locks up in normal use (not once)

BUT:

-It freezes (normally test 5) only on memtest86
-It will NOT initialise the encoding test on PCMARK05 (but runs all other tests)

In memtest, the screen is completely frozen (i.e. no blinking cursor).
In PCMARK05, the pc behaves normally but just displays the error "Error in filter initialisation" every single time.

My settings in BIOS (Version 1407 ASUS P5W DH deluxe):

--------------------
Configure System Frequency:

AI overclocking: Manual
CPU frequency: 420
DRAM frequency: DDR2 - 840mhz

Performance mode: Auto
PCI express frequency: 100
PCI clock synchronisation mode: 33mhz

Memory voltage: 1.90v
CPU Vcore voltage: 1.5v

FSB termination voltage: 1.4v
MCH chipset voltage: 1.55v
ICH chipset voltage: 1.20v

Digital home media: disabled
-------------------------------------------------------

I have yet to test on stock, but will try tomorrow if i get a chance.

Any ideas ? 🙂

Honestly, i wouldn't worry too much if it's stable for normal use.

But hopefully someone will have a solution for you.

Are you running the newest Memtest? When you say it "passes Prime95 & Orthos", do you mean that it's passing small fft's, or is it passing Orthos Blend? You can make Prime95 & Orthos pass, when your RAM is so far from being stable that it fails out of Memtest in seconds, if you use small fft's.
