E5200 won't work on

I got in on the $15 Biostar motherboard deal (P4M890-M7 SE 7.x) back around Thanksgiving. I didn't have the chart above, and so I figured one of the new 45nm energy efficient E5200 socket 775 (2.5 GHz, dual core) processors would work fine. (the board takes 95 Watt cpu's)

Trouble is, now I see several folks who have specifically posted that the board will NOT boot with one of the newer 45nm E5200 processors, nor will it boot with a Celeron 3200 - the only other processor I have.

I got in on the E5200 retail boxed for $35.11 shipped from Tigerdirect about 10 days ago. Of course, they only offer exchange for defective cpu. I have two of the Biostar Motherboards, and now 3 cpu's that won't boot in the system. I'm trying to build a nice system for my sister, and another for a friend's brother.

The E5200's are brand new, but evidently now I have no use for them.

Anyone have any ideas on how I can still put together a nice system without spending any more money?

Go to Biostar's website and download the latest MB firmware. Usually each CPU has a unique ID that the MB has to know. Your's must have very old firmware.

He cant flash it if he doesn't have a cpu to boot it with.

Otherwise, head over to FS/FT and trade your CPU for a different one unless you know somebody who has one you can at least borrow.

Thread crapping will not be tolerated. If you want to make an offer, contact the seller via email or PM.
This is NOT FS/FT, so there will be NO selling here.

Flee bay that CPU and the others hell I just paid like $60.00 something for the same one from the Egg. Guessing you'll get yer money back plus you have three CPU'S, or get ride of the board and you can built two more systems soon.

Any techy types on your friend list? Someone you know has to have an older 65nm chip laying around like a $20 Celeron 430. Use that to flash your board. I love E5200, one of the best bang for the buck chips in awhile.

A possible BIOS update might fix your problem. But I mean come on 15 bones for a BIO STAR. I wouldn't touch that thing with a ten foot pole.

Anyhow see if you can get a BIOS update for your board. gl
