Not a bad deal at all. That $89 shipped for an E7200 @ fry's a while back skewed what a CPU deal seems like these days, though. :)

Haha, "only" 4.4GHz :p

I'm at a measly 2.4 :(

Current Fry's combo deal is $99 for that CPU (OEM) plus an ECS GF7050 chipset board. If it was the ECS G31 chipset board I may have gotten one (just happened to be in the area). Would have put it at around $29 out the door for that motherboard, which isn't bad... had it been the G31...

As it is, I'm considering buying one of these and putting that $29 towards a board of my choice. I've had a WTB thread going for cheap Wolfdales, but not a single offer.

That is, for those of you who didn't have your order cancelled. Mine was. :|

The E5200 is a GREAT cpu for the price. Built many systems with it and it's a very quick processor with good overclocking potential as well. :)

Yes

Just for reference, I have seen the E7200 w the ECS GF7050 for $99. That was with a retail cpu and it comes up at that price a lot. Intel tray pricing on the E7200 is still at $113 quantity 1000. So those are hot deals.

For something similar, an E5200 combo should have to be around $74 with a retail cpu

Oh, I got in on it about 10 seconds after it sold out. I ordered an E8400 out of spite. :)

Too bad Fry's is so far away from me. Oh wait, I meant "thank God Fry's is so far away or I'd go broke saving money."

I actually got the OEM E8400 deal with ECS G31M-T board this past weekend. Only other likely deal was the GF7050 board with an E5200. My wife wanted to go to Ikea and Fry's wasn't too far away... she spends $900, I spend $165... bliss ensues.

EDIT: Awww heck, I just bought one. Thanks OP. Thanks a lot. :disgust:
