I am building a E4400 build with the Gigabyte P35 DS3L rev 2.0 mobo and 2 gigs of patriot 4-4-4-12 ram and am running into some issues. I tried to overclock it to 3.2 ghz at 400x8, but the thing would not boot into windows, so I raised vcore to 1.36 and +.2 to vdimm, fsb +.1 and gmch +.1, and still it would not successfully boot. I tried many different settings each time and had the same results, but finally the board would not reset the bios automatically and would hard lock while booting into windows each time.
I then tried to clear the cmos by removing the jumper, then I replaced it and booted the machine. THis time I can't even get the video card to output a display, however I can hear its fan whirring away. I consulted the mobo motherboard and it stated the jumper covering should not be on after I attempted to clear cmos, that it could damage the board if it was on. Is it possible that I may have killed this pc that was working oh so well stock? This build was actually for my friend so I am a nervous wreck trying to get it to work... Any help would be greatly appreciated.
