e4300 on intel retail boards?

apparently the e4300 on intel branded retail boards, doesnt have working PWM. so it spins the fan at full speed all the time.

anyone know of a fix? My friend on a rev 1.0 badaxe 975xbx and me with a d946gzis both have this problem.

i dont want to o/c or anything, i just want a somewhat quiet computer.
