I would say your temps are fine since those programs torture your processor more than a normal program's 100% load would. Context is helpful though, what cpu cooler and paste are you using, and if you're interested in knowing if you can overclock further it's helpful to know your motherboard/ram specifics. If you're not interested in pushing the rig further then well...I'm still curious. :)

Also since your vcore is roughly 1.4 I again say your temps are fine.

Wow! I feel pretty good then :)

I'm using a Thermaltake "Big Typhoon" - holdover from my A64 3400+ with AS5. All of this goodness is wrapped in a Cooler Master Centurion 5 with a measely little 80mm in the front and 120mm in the back and about 72F ambient outside the case. For RAM, I've got two sticks of OCZ Gold DDR800 running linked right now at (I believe) 849 squeezed onto an MSI P6N Sli-Fi (nope, didn't bother for the Platinum).

Well, I wouldn't be too surprised if there was some room yet. I actually managed to get the voltage down to 1.38 now and still run the same speeds (testing it with SuperPi/Torture test as I type this). At what point (and maybe I should just use SuperPi?) do I worry about my temps? 60? I just know SpeedFan shows a little flame at 50 which is moderately intimidating even though I know better :)

Many thanks, guys!

I don't rely on Speedfan for temps on my 4300 anymore--I use the new version of Core Temp and Intel's TAT for temperature measurement instead. They tend to run a bit higher, and while it's all been confusing I'm not always sure what to believe, I think that TAT is the most accurate read. I'm on less voltage than you but running at 3.0ghz and my load temps are about 60 degrees with TAT and about 2 degrees less with Core Temp (older version was consistently 15 degrees under TAT, as was Speedfan).

Personally I think Speedfan and CoreTemp/TAT are the best programs for monitoring temperatures. With that being said, they monitor in different ways. Speedfan monitors TCase temperature, which is further from the individual cores. For C2D's you really don't wanna go above 50C TCase. CoreTemp/TAT monitor TJunction which is on average 15C higher than TCase. It is said that you don't wanna exceed 65C TJunction.

With all that being said, I would be a bit concerned about your temps considering the voltage you are at. You may want to lap your BT and reseat it. When I first got my Tuniq I was idling around 24C/39C and loading at 45C/60C(Tjunction that is). After lapping my Tuniq I now idle at 18C/33C and load at 38C/54C. Keep in mind too that this is all with my voltage at 1.425 as well.
