I played a bit of The Longest Journey. Nice art and some interesting story setup, but most of the puzzles were utterly nonsensical.
I found myself just following the walkthrough since I'd never think to fish a deflated rubber duck out of a canal in order to carry it down to the subway to use with tongs to retireve a key. That was an actual puzzle from the game.
Puzzles like that make me want to break out a Lewis Black impression of flailing hands, bugged eyes, and very loud ranting
