E3 2009 "big 3" press conference times.

I was wondering when the press conferences were for E3 next week, and figured I'd share. This is NOT considered the official press conference thread, they each need their own! 🙂 Is it sad that I look forward to the pre-E3 conferences so much? 🙂

Microsoft - Monday, June 1st @ 1:30pm ET/10:30am PT
Nintendo - Tuesday, June 2nd @ 12pm ET/9am PT
Sony - Tuesday, June 2nd @ 2pm ET/11am PT

Last time, it basically sucked. Don't expect too terribly much.

If by bang, you mean an hour of sales charts, a half hour of marginally gaming related announcements, a half hour of third party cross platform games, and a few minutes of a teaser for a game that will come out in three years, all delivered by most boring speakers imaginable, then I'm sure it will be thermonuclear.

I really hope they come up with a decent presentation this year. Every other previous sony conference has made me want to shoot myself out of boredom.

To be fair, I'm sure everything from microsoft will leak before the presentation, thus making it equally pointless. And I'm sure nintendo's will be so self aggrandizing and lacking in actual substance that it may end up being the worst of all.

Despite all that, I'm jealous I can't take the day off to watch them. 😛

Alphabetical order?

Because they intentionally schedule it on Monday to beat the other two.

Ya, Microsoft is very bad at holding secrets. I think everything was known about last year's conference except the FFXIII reveal at the end.

Nintendo will come out again and some boring and stoic old woman will tell us about her hiking vacation, then bring out the most well known hiker this side of the Appalachains and announce Wii Fit 2. They'll spend about 30 minutes on this, then show a game that was previously on the Gamecube, and they'll call it a night.

I don't think we're going to see anything too special this year for anybody. It's just not a good time to be releasing new hardware so don't look for a PSP2 unless it's just a prototype. If anything Sony will show off the much rumoured UMD-less PSP-4000. PS3 price cut is also pretty unlikely. All things considered, the system is already aggressively priced as is at $399. Stand alone BD-Live players are still around $250 at the cheapest. Throw in an Xbox or Wii and you're at least $450 in the hole.

I expect mostly software. Probably see some more of Uncharted 2, Bioshock 2 being demoed, etc. The Zune HD will probably make an appearance too since it supposedly now has connectivity with the 360.

G4 usually covers them. Record it.

Most of the highlights, if not the entire address, are all over the gaming websites; IGN, Gamespot, kotaku

I'll just wait for one of you to post the highlights, then find links so I can see it for myself. Don't disappoint!😉

IMHO, the rumored Xbox 360 motion control via camera and the PSP Go! are pretty exciting announcements. The Zune HD will be huge, too, since it looks like it'll be very heavily integrated into the 360. What will remain a surprise is whether Nintendo will actually try to appeal to core gamers this year, or if it'll be another boring casual-love-fest.

Best Buy says hello for $170:

The Insignia player actually has pretty good reviews, and it's profile 2.0. If you were willing to go factory refurb, you could go as low as $150.

I don't think the PSP GO is exciting at all. It is still just a redesigned PSP1. I was hoping for a PSP2 with dual analogs.

Agreed. A true follow-up in the PSP2 with sliding screen, dual analog, and flash-only storage would be exciting. A redesigned PSP? Not so much.

you say it as if everyone has G4 to record off of.
