I have seen that intel have released this cpu
xeon e3-1220l
it is a dual core cpu with a tdp of 20 watt
so is there anyone heard how this chip compare??
i expect it to be better than a d525 atom or an e-350 zaceti
compared to i3-2100t? will it be better or worse??

Define better or worse?

That CPU looks like it is targeted towards a very niche market. If you are in that niche market, almost definitely better. If you aren't, probably worse.

at encoding video
as these cpu will be nice in an htpc
with lower tdp than i3-2100t
can add a 6400 gpu to get more or less the gpu perfomanse if not better of the ie-2100t
and have the same prety much tdp but split in 2 places not cothered in one for a true silent system

according to the site of the intel the e3 xeon is under the code name sandy bridge
so is it safe to say that this xeon line is sandy bridge design with some more features enabled?
if that is the case someone can expect clock to clock comparison to be the same with an i3 i5 or i7 counterpad??
e3-1220l can be compared to an i3-2100t at 300hz lower freaquensy. so expecting to be 12% slower to the i3
the e3-1260l to an i7-2600s with 400hz lower frequensy thus 14% slower??

Yea, I think the i3 would probably be better. Idle power usage with SB is really good anyway.

when atom was realesed i bought two
i had no problem with the machine low power but enought to go around.
the only drawback was the 945 chipset that was paired that draw so much power. i paired it witha 4550 ati card and it could ahndle blue ray also.
it was nice for a change to have a completly passive machine no noise.
then there was the next generation of atom and amd e-350 but they offered nothing to a user that already owns an atom system.
but now sandy bridge is out.
in a site i have seen a comparison of i3-2100t to e-350
at idle, blue ray playbak, light work
both draw almost the same power diferense 2-3 watt
at 100% cpu load the i3 doubled the enrgy consumption (18watt) but quad the perfomanse.
so i was thinking for i3-2100t to upgrade the atom
when i saw the e3 series which seems even better :)

If you're encoding MPEG2 video (a fairly linear process), the e3 might be better because it has Turbo. Otherwise, the i3 looks better. If it draws too much power I imagine you could underclock and undervolt it to the e3 level, by BCLK if necessary.
