Can't verify this b/c I don't have an E2160 to compare it to, but I've heard mention that the E4xxx larger L2 cache (2M) adds to its overall temperature as opposed to the E2xxx L2 Cache (1M). That said, I've gotten my E4400 to 3.0GHz with only one bump in Vcore (from 1.325 to 1.345), completely Orthos stable (blend, large & small tests) with the stock cooler and it gets ~72c with Orthos.
I have had it to 3.33GHz but I had to use 1.465Vcore and couldn't test for stability because I'm still on the stock cooler. Just did it to see if it would do it and it booted just fine. Haven't tried higher yet. My Tt Big Typhoon is arriving tomorrow, so we'll see what this CPU will really do then.
To see my (and many others') results with these two series of processors, check out this thread:
E2xxx and E4xxx overclock thread. Some very impressive results with CPUs from both series.
