E2160 - What should my temps be?

I am just getting into overclocking my E2160 and am going to run Ortho's to see how my machine does.

At idle, currently my machine is running around:
33C to 34C per core

I am at 1.365 Vcore and 9X333=3.0GHz.

When I turn on the orthos blend test the temp immediately jumps up to around 52C and climbs. I am not sure how high these chips are supposed to go so I wanted to ask before I crunch out 10 minutes of orthos.

How hot can these chips run under load safely at the 1.365 Vcore at 3.0GHz?

Keep your cores as far below 70C as possible, although anywhere between 60-65C is perfectly acceptable. Some people believe that it's okay to run them hotter, but they weren't the ones typing this reply, huh?:D

You can run Orthos up to 70-75C in 85F room but CPU may not remain stable. Actual real-world working temperature would be 10 to 15C lower since Orthos is a stress test application.

Quick summary...it's okay to push E2160 up to 75C with coretemp. I use Speedfan 4.33 to check CPU temp. Speedfan's CPU temp should be in line with Coretemp. No need to check CPU temp with only 1.365Vcore if your heat sink is properly seated.

Be sure to set fan speed control in BIOS to 3 pin and 50C target temperature. This will allow the board to lower the CPU fan when PC is idling.

Thank for ALL of the replies.

So it sounds like I can run it up to the 75c range while testing but it should be running much cooler than that on a regular basis. I too read the -15c issue with SpeedFan and its fix with the beta so that is why I was asking which I should be going by. Seems like CoreTemp's out of the box degrees are near exact to the mobo's.

I'm going to run ortho's and see how hot it gets. I started running it for a minute again and it went up to the 58c range. I wanted to make sure I wasn't going to fry my CPU if my heatsink isn't seated correctly.

I'm going to try again and I will post back my temps.

I'm finally back around to running this test. I am testing 300X9=2.7GHz at 1.345Vcore. So far its at 57C after 2 minutes...Watching closely.

Ok, so 10+ minutes of Orthos went by and both of the 2 cores hovered around 58C and never went over 60C to 61C at 1.345Vcore.

Time to go up to 333X9 for a solid 3.0GHz.
