First time I've seen these showing up for sale. Didn't know they were out yet.

Expect Intel to unveil the Pentium E2100-series in June with two models, the E2160 and E2140 clocked at 1.8 GHz and 1.6 GHz respectively.

Ive seen reviews, they seem to have the identical speed to the E4xx series. Or close enough to not matter anyways. Id rather have the E4xx myself.

The 2160 is 9x200, the 2140 is 8x200. The only difference between them and the E4xxx processors is the size of the L2 cache, and that the slower E2xxx has an 8x multi while the faster has a 9x while the slower E4xxx has a 9x and the faster has a 10x. Personally I would rather have the E2160 since it's said to cost $85 when it comes out in early June. IMO the price difference between that and the E4300 isn't worth the extra $.

If you're talking budget build, I'd take the E4300 for $115 and have the 9x multiplier which will be handy on a low-end motherboard that can't OC well. That plus the extra L2 cache is nice.

ewiz has an E4300 OEM for $95. (you might need to go through froogle, though. without froogle, $99)

Yeah, thats great that they E2xx series are in the $80-$90 range, but it seems like a moot point when you can get an E4300 for almost the same price, with more l2 cache. Possibly ocs better, but that is yet to be seen.

In the UK it goes:
E2140 - £59
E2160 - £59
E4300 - £74
E4400 - £89
E6320 - £110
E6420 - £122
E6600 - £149

Not sure exacylt how they compare to US prices, but they should give you a reference point with some, and indicate the % difference between the others.
It's likely the E2160 will be ~20% cheaper than the E4300.
