as my summary says, it only is showing as 997-998mhz in everest and cpu-z. if it were only hsowing 1 core, it still wouldnt be right. can anybody answer this??? because i sure cant!
 
Go to the Control Panel/power options. If it is set to Minimal Power mgmt or portable/laptop...change it to Home/desktop..now check cpu-z, does it read what you think it should? If so, you have no problem, this is a normal power saving function when the laptop is set to Minimal mgmt or laptop settings.
