Just finished building my new machine and i skimped on the video card because i plan to upgrade in a few months. So i am getting this sort of "interference" where it seems as if "snow" and "lines" of different colors keep flashing across the screen. I tested the monitor on my laptop (Vista 32bit) and it worked flausessly. I have yet to install a wireless card or anything but I do have a wireless network and a cordless phone. Could this be the cause? Could it be incorrect settnigs in BIOS (IRQ channels and such). I am in a rue here as its my first new machine in quite sometime.

On a positive note, due to the info shared ont hese forums and the site in general I was able to performs my first overclock successfullly. Thanks to the members and this forum for the help and foremost the ecouragement.

did you put your cpu and memory back to stock speed and see if it happens?

overstressed system memory can cause that problem.

and 2 hours of prime is nothing, is it still running well after 24hours of 2 instances of prime together to load both cores to 100%

the interference was at first boot prior to any overclock. As far as the prime test i did 2 hours cause i was excited to even get a windows boot LOL.

If it was like that new, with everything stock it may be the memory on the card is bad.

what drivers have you tried? have you updated the newest motherboard drivers as well?

havent tried any new drivers but i thought maybe someone had some similar experience. Does it sounds like something that could be caused by all the fans in my case? It seems consistent with when u run a vaccum close to a tube television.

no, it's not going to be interference from your fans. I'm leaning towards a bad card. Time for an rma I would think.

I have seen the issue you describe from both a faulty video card and also because of over issues with system memory. Since you say the issue was there with things at default, it make more of a case against it being the video card.

ok, let me ask you this now. i updated the video card drivers. it seems to have helped things along as far as in windows. but during bootup and such I am still getting the same interference. I am thinking bad card as well, but i hope not for the sake of having downtime and the hassle.

Ok, the interference is gone when in windows. This is after a driver update. Now I am having a problem with attempting to payback video. I try to playback video at a larger resolution but as soon as the video is played back, it starts to get scaled down. I dont know how to fix this. Anyone have any clues as to what is happening here?
