E-rice or Cernax?

Dilema: Go with Cernax or E-rice?

e-rice.net: 100MB, 3000 MB Transfer - $10 / year

cernax.com: 100MB, 1500 MB Transfer - $25 / year

Telnap.com - 300MB, 5000MB transfer $25/year
HostPC.com - 600MB, 10000MB transfer, $30/year

remember, you get what you pay for. but Telnap is reliable

If the uptime is bad, what's the point of having a web hosting service?
If the support isn't good, you will ultimately regret even bothering with a company.

If you have a good experience, you won't mind paying a few extra dollars 🙂

I've decided e-rice is out of the question, but I need to decide between cernax and hostpc. Ultimately, it comes to: how much bandwidth do I need for a small online computer store? If 1500 MB is enough, I will probably go with cernax.

By the way, Agaboogaboo, does cernax offer a secure page (SSL) with that hosting?

Why would telnap offer $2.50 / month instead of $25 / year? If someone was on that tight of a budget, they shouldn't be messing around with websites.

Actually, I believe Telnap requires an annual payment on all plans below $5.00 per month (hence the "$24.95 Annual rate (required)" portion shown here).

Annual prepayments general receive a two month discount, if memory serves.

I had been using e-rice for last 3-4 years. I had 3 sites with them, very stable and reliable. Price is excellent!

Yep.

When your web host dies or support tickets take 12 hours to respond to, don't come whining to us because I'll just say told ya so 🙂

If I were you, I would contact dartworth and accept his offer for free web hosting which includes cPanel and Fantastico 😛

I'm sure they require annual payment, but I have had to make sites that only need to be online for a couple of months before the information is 100% useless to anyone.

I used e-rice for about 2 years and I never had a single problem that wasn't fixed within an hour or two.

I'm on 8-95 now, Dixiesys, and haven't have any problems there either.

Telnap.com has had a few specials, they're usually $15/yr for 300MB/5GB which is very generous.
