Hi all!

I need help with E-MU 0204 USB device and drivers for Windows 10 - can't find anything updated on the web. The ones I find allow me to use it as a soundcard, but I can't use my XLR microphone. The mic does work with other systems, so it's fine.

I've tried contacting the E-MU tech support via the email address stated in the Creative forums, but no replies after two weeks and two emails. Seems like they abandoned it.

Anyone knows what can I do?

Thanks

It does look like Creative stopped supporting the E-MU 0204 back at Win 8. Current support pages for that 5 year old device are blank.

Looks like Win 7 drivers are the latest. Maybe time to replace.

Seems so. I guess that a batch of E-MU owners could sue, but who have time for that

any suggestions then?
Well, if a device conforms to the USB audio spec, it should work without additional drivers. Product info pages will list requirements for certain versions of OS X and/or Windows, but those usually reflect the requirements of the bundled software (Cakewalk or something) not the device itself.

My 1st-gen Focusrite Scarlett 2i2 seems to fall into that category, fwiw - even without installing the recommended drivers, they work fine. I use it in Linux w/o issue, even though that's not supposedly supported.

The whole point of that product line is the mic preamps, though, so it's probably not what you're looking for. (Although the Scarlett Solo is about the same price as the 0204, and has stereo in/out, so it would probably do the job for you.)

I got the 2i2 to replace an M-Audio Firewire 410 which, as you have experienced, was NOT a generic audio device, and was driver-orphaned by the manufacturer.

Thanks, appreciates your help very much

I just wonder, maybe some small configuration change somewhere could make the XLR work. Otherwise it works well and it is a good product, hardware-wise:\
