So you've heard of our science/math departments, huh? And yes, that is true. Every science related class I've taken has been taught by someone I can barely understand.

It's a good thing I'm in Econ now where it's only the TAs that can't speak English.

Hmmm...I've had really good luck when it comes to sciences and mail. All of my professors, whether it be for math, physics, compsci, or whatever, have almost always sent out fairly well-written e-mails. The e-mails aren't formal in that they usually start off with something like "Hey guys" or "Hi All!", but they're usually grammatically correct. Maybe it's because I go to a liberal arts college...

Anyway, the e-mail you saw could have been more or less a joke by the professor; something like "don't write your essays like this!".
