Anyone know when eBay started requiring entering a CC to simply change your e-mail address? I tried to change it earlier today with the confirmation stuff and got the CC entering screen. What's the point of this?

They probably just want it on record, and took this opportunity to force you to do it. Do you have a web cert or something to use, if you don't want to use an actual cc#?

i'm pretty sure they only ask for credit card info if you're using a free mail account like hotmail and stuff. all you have to do is use a free mail service they don't know about, that's what i did.

No, I'm using my domain mail, @3dgfn...

they now require all users to have a credit card number on file. this actually happened quite a while back. could be that you didn't ever put one in before.

When I registered I put one in, but I've changed my e-mail several times and have never been required to do so then.
