Which one for my 01 3.8 Camaro? I'm probably just gettin the mufflers, except the triflo catback which I can hopefully get from a member at the fbody forums.
Anyone with experience with these brands and how they sound?

Why bother? The exhaust is so backed up by the catalitic converter anything that you put on will not help. GM does a great job with the stock stuff. I would spend my money on taking my girl out.

Just my $.02

Seriously. All you're going to do is change the tone of the exhaust. If that's what you want, then it's all a matter of opinion.

You guys are missing the point here. Redwingsguy would like the opinion of people who have one of these exhaust components installed to share their view on them. Now while I don't have any of these (I'm a Mustang owner), I can attest to the fact that different companies' exhause components sound different on the same car. Some sound good to some people, and others sound good to other people. ;)

save your money for a real engine ;)

and if you don't you really can't go wrong with any of them
they all have slightly different sounds... only way to know what you want is to find someone that has them to listen

I have Dynomax mufflers on my GTP (3.8 liter supercharged motor) and love the sound and the flow. I had put a smaller pulley on the m90 supercharger and went to a k&N cone filter, so I wanted a more free-flowing exhaust. However, from the cat back, instead of using stock 2.5 inch exhaust, I went to a 3 inch exhaust. If I remember correctly, I used dynomax super turbos (I know they are dynomax, but not exactly sure on the name).

Basically, it makes the 6 cylinder sound like v-8 and I feel it really opens up the engine. I still get a decent 22-24 mph average on the car, but it just sounds mean now.

<< I've tested Dynomax, Flowmaster, Mac, and Gibson exhausts various to my different vehicle's. My current truck has a duel in duel out 2.5 so I got 5" of exhaust, (Needed for forced induction) and I do like the Dynomax a lot, My buddy with the 94 Cobra has the Edelbrock on there and it flows well but the sound is kinda funny at high RPM, of all the sound I like the Flowmaster BY FAR, but out of the performace I think Dynomax is prolly the best I have experienced. >>

I've considered flowmaster but heard from everyone v6 camaro that had one said it would round ricey to the point of embarassment after 3k!

those dynomax super turbos sound just like glasspacks IMHO. glasspacks are cheap..we stock them at work for like $15 bux. while the super turbo mufflers are about 50-60. A kid at school has 3in on a 2.5 S10 with a flowmaster...it sounds hella ricey!
glasspacks have a sweet sound on a v6. A friend of mine put them on his old 225 buick engine (essentially same engine as the 3.8 just carbed and 30 years older)
he wraps it up at 3k and they just bellow oodles of sound..its very nice. As for the catalytic convervter...........cut it off! all of my vehicles (except my s10) have the cats removed. I live in MI where emissions really isnt a big deal..atleast up north. Whatever you do i'm sure you'll make the right decision :)
