Ok, on Saturday I met with a group of people from westcoastfords.com for a dyno day in Fremont, California. We dynoed 14 cars. I'll mention a couple things about my car, then you get links to all the pics and videos.

My car made a less than impressive 315 horsepower and 309 ft/lbs of torque at the rear wheels.

If you care to look at my dyno sheet, here it is. If you're familiar with dyno sheets you can see that the graph 1) Looks like ass, and 2) The car is running so rich that the A/F ratio is off the chart, literally. Anyway, I know what's causing this, but I don't feel like typing it all out, so I'll use the explanation of why my car's not running right as an excuse for a morning bump to this thread :) For now, suffice it to say that the car will make significantly more power when it's fixed, which won't be long :)

Anyway, Here's pics, peak numbers and videos of all 14 cars. Before you ask why the silver supra had such low numbers - it's a non-turbo Supra. Also - my car is the white one near the bottom (only white car in there)

And here's a few more still pics

Wow, looks like you guys had a good time. You have a centrifugal blown 302 right? Did you just get one pull or did you have a chance to mess with it between runs?

Looks like a nice group of cars. What's in the stang that put out 400+hp?

You ever run it at the track.

Edit: forgot...Those seem like some decent numbers that I'm sure will improve with some tuning.

That's pretty sweet. The previous owner of my '89 Pontiac Turbo Trans Am dyno'd her at 416 HP at the wheels. She sure can scare the sh|t out of me at times.

A Measure of Torque and horsepower. It's a big barrel and the faster your tires can spin the barrel, the more hp/torque you have.

Dynamometer.

It's a device that measures the power output(in HP and torque) of a mechanical device.. specifically rotational power.

I'd like to do that with my car, but I've already seen dynos of similar cars (about 204 RWHP, around 270 Lb/ft)

There is something seriously wrong with your car. To get spikes like that in your lower RPM's is ridiclous. Do you feel your car missing a lot on the low end? I'm pretty sure you can since the spikes are so bad. Is it dentonating? Can you hear any pinging? It seems to straigten itself out when you get really rich. How did they measure the a/f? Tail pipe sniffer or through a bung? Typically a tail pipe sniffer will measure much richer then what your a/f actually is.

Somethings you may want to check, your timing (I suspect this over anything else), plugs, and wires. What have you done to your car? What mods do you have?

Ok, here's the explanation of the wierd dyno sheet.

So, my car has an FMU on it. For those that don't know, an FMU is a device that's designed to increase fuel pressue (and thus fuel flow) under boost as produced from a supercharger or turbocharger. Now on that graph, my car starts to make boost right when the graph freaks out and turns into a sin wave. When the FMU is kicking in, it's oscillating between 'on' and 'off' rather than smoothly coming on and jsut staying there. In addition to that, once the FMU figures out that it's supposed to be on, it's just making way too much pressure and causing the car to run really rich.

So, my solution is to remove the FMU and upgrade the fuel system to be able to supply the extra fuel neccesary without using it. This means bigger fuel injectors and a few small parts like an adjustable fuel pressure regulator. As soon as I get my new parts in, the car should run much better. :)

And for rageATM: the car's not pinging, and they measured A/F through the tailpipe, but the stock cars were getting normal A/F numbers, as you'd expect from a car that's not modified. It may not be perfectly accurate, but it was pretty close.

Is it typical to get better numbers on the first run than on the second? There were some pretty good drops in both power and torque.

no, not really, but then nothing about that sheet is typical.

How much of an improvement do I expect? At LEAST 35hp and 35f/t lbs of torque. Probably more.
