I'm not going for it. If tou look at the return counter at Worst Buy, you will find a bunch of Dynex and the other cheap in house brand(I-something) are loaded on that counter. Not to say you can't get a good unit, just giving the history of these brands, you might not.

Agreed. I used to work at Circuit City when it was still in business, and there would be far more returns of the cheap brand TVs than the top names. By my guess, 75% of the TVs returned were either Vizio or Olevia. However, there were too many other variables to draw a statistically significant conclusion from that. For instance, I don't know how many of them we sold compared to the other brands (although I think it was less than 75%). Or any detailed info about the customers who returned them. For instance, the lower price might mean that there were more people who bought them on impulse, then changed their mind a week later. Or more young people with lower incomes, who might have bought a TV then had an unexpected expense within the 30 day return window, and return the TV because they needed the money. They also were bought online for in-store pickup much more often (without ever looking at the picture quality), since most of the people who were spending $$$$ on a big name brand TV were more likely to come in and see it, so they would know exactly what they were getting. Across the lineup, I'd expect that these cheap brands do have higher failure rates than the name brands, but it would be foolish to draw conclusions for one particular model based off of such limited data. Especially since so much of LCD quality is determined by who makes the panel, not who makes the TV, which is often a different company, and varies across the line-up. The 37" Generic LCD-32TV2011G might have a great panel, whereas the 37" Generic LCD-32TV2011F might have a terrible panel. As I recall, there have been a couple Hot Deals where people have had to go in the store and check the serial number of the TV, because the same model was made with two different panels, and the website didn't specify which one.

TLDR - I'd only listen to reviews for this specific model TV, and not make a generalization of a brand based on limited data. If this is a recurring deal, could those of you who bought them post their experiences with them.

Most of the reviews on the bestbuy site are good. I saw the TV in the store, looked fine. When I hook mine up if I have an issue, I'll just take it back...

I don't know about the newer Dynex models but I have a Dynex from 3yrs ago (32" 720p LCD) that has been great as a spare bedroom TV and has given me no problems what so ever, as with anything (even brand name models) everything is hit or miss and you always have the risk of getting a "lemon". I've had to send/in home repair my living room TV (55" Sony Bravia LCD) at least a hand full of times the past 1 1/2yrs on the other hand.

Still tweaking with the PICTURE settings...

Seems a LITTLE bright and the reds seem a BIT off...
