Dynatron DF1212BA FAN == ADVICE PLEASE

I wouldn't want one. The specs seem close to true - 93 CFM @ 41dBA makes sense - but they are too darn noisy for my taste 😉
 
I guess I just have'nt seen a noisy Fan yet, I'll find out how bothersome they are I guess... I've allways liked a little background fan noise when I'm asleep and to much going on during the day to notice it... If I'm watching a movie I cant imagine it drowning anything out.. I guess I'll find out eh?

anyone else have input\better fan for under $20?? besides the SD's ill be buying 😛
 
First of all what do you need 93cfm for?
When using fans (unless that will be your only fan) you need to remember that somewhere around 50cfm you start to get what is called diminishing returns,
You also have pretty loud fan - as if I am one tot alk considering I use PC Power & Cooling PSU`s...lol
There are a few good fans on the markt.
That fan is accurately spec`s from what I understand!
Also you want to stay away from some fans such as Thermaltake fans. They are not accurately spec`d at all!
I personally use CoolerMaster fans!! Even set to Max they are not loud!
I also use the Zalman MFSC to conteoll my fans!
I think CoolerMaster has one of the quietest LED fans on the market!!

If you wait til later others will come and tell you what else is also quiet as well as dependable!!

appreciate it. I just cringe at paying upwards of $30 for a good fan, it seems that it shouldn't be so complicated to make a stupid fan rotate at a high speed and low volume, but obviously this is the case.

More words of wisdom, and cheap good fan advice is appreciated.

ALSO what do you mean about point of diminishing returns? perhaps that the stirred up air no longer moves as efficiently forward and becomes more chaotic?
 
As you increase airflow, cooling performance increases. But there is a point where increasing airflow more only gets you more noise without really increasing performance that much more. I don't know exactly where the point is, 50cfm seems kind of low considering the amount of air that the server racks can pump out, but I'm no pro on that.
