People seem to love it.

I've got an X850 XT PE and I'm hoping putting this thing in would help cool it off and get those FPS a bit higher.

Would this thing do the trick?

For the money this thing would be very nice, look at the RPMs it has for only $4???!!! Now for the stupid question, this would blow out of the case correct? Not into it.

hmm i have a question about slot coolers. If this dynatron is only 10 cfm wouldnt one with like 30 cfm be better or does it matter?

better means different things to different people. Some people say that hard blowers are better, while some people want nice a quiet ones. Look at CFM/DBa or air/noise level. You want something that moves relatively lots of air when compared to others that make the same noise levels. I for one think that these PCI exhaust fans are worthless, since I've had one and it didn't really do anything.

I'm thinking that if one is right above my video card, it will suck all the hot air coming off the top of the card, out the back. My card gets up to like 71 celsius when it's really being worked.

the dynatron DOES NOT BLOW 10CFM.. it blows 43..... zoom in on the package cover... clearly says 43 cfm ....u think a 120mm fan @ 2500+ rpm blows 10cfm? lol

That is not a 120mm blower. It is an 80mm blower. Think about it, the whole size of a "blank" slot is about 100mm (not including overhang) and that fan body is smaller.

Yeah, I thought it looked a little small. I'll report the inaccurate info to newegg.

Update: I reported all the inaccurate info to newegg, so hopefully they change it.

These things are actually essentially another video card cooler in your case. These things are about as loud and blow about as much air as a video card cooler would.

I had a similar cooler, and all it did was make noise. If you really want to cool your video card, get an Artic Cooling VGA Silencer. They cool VERY well, are pretty cheap, and very quiet too.

I have one of these things in the slot below my 6800GT, it does a few degrees difference - I can feel it moving out some hot air, so it can't be all that bad. I also can't hear it at all. (I recently connected it to a fan speed controller for the hell of it, 4 slots, it was my 4th fan.)

It says 22 CFM on the package I got.

I've got an X850 XT PE and this sucker gets super hot, and this litter blower thing helps a great deal (it's directly over the top of my card, milimeters away). I used to sometimes get stupid random artifacts in Far Cry, but after I put this thing in, they went away!

And it IS very quiet, makes no noticebly difference in noise level in my case.

That doesn't mean a whole lot considering the x850 xt pe is about as loud as a jet at takeoff.

i had one and like sly syl said they move some air. i think it got me ~6c better card temps. i found it a bit loud and hooked it up to a fan controller as well. if i needed another i wouldn't hesitate getting one.

Actually the X800 XT PE is a lot louder when it's being pushed, the X850 XT PE stays about the same noise level constantly, which is quieter than the X800.

If you get one of those centrifugal slot exhausters, you can chop out the grillework (Dremel or good side-cutting pliers) to help improve its efficiency. Also, you may want to peel back the label over the sleeve bearing and give it a drop of quality oil (automatic transmission fluid is perfect).

I had one of those dynatron PCI slot coolers to help kool my 6800GT...

DONT waste your time--I was not impressed!!
Mine was noisy as all get out and didnot help one bit!

What I ended up doing was fabricating a bracket for a spare 80mm fan that I had.
I placed that fan facing the mobo centered on the video card fan.....

It dropped my temps another 10 - 15 degrees farenhiet......

Good Luck!!
